to get rid of the wires in my apartment I ordered an Asus Digimatrix, I'm also sick of connecting my beamer, external surround soundbox and storage to my notebook every time..

Asus Digimatrix comes for about 290 Eur, without RAM, CPU and Harddisc (that was the cheapest one I found, other prices are up to 450 Eur) very important is the design for me, I don't want any PCish looking box that wastes space in my apartment

ordered a P4 2 Ghz socked 478 cpu (hard to get as a new one, there are also a few damaged ones available on ebay..)
need to get another 230 GiB? harddisc, 2x 512 MB Ram and dvi to hdmi cable
2 coworkers also have such a box, the heat of a 2.2 ghz p4 should be ok, but of a 2.4ghz celeron should already be too much.. so I hope the best with 2ghz

received the 2ghz cpu.. only rams and a silent hdd is missing for now :)

put in the wrong hdd .. since it wasn't labeled of course I took the wrong one out of my box at work 6 gb with quite alot stuff from y2000 funny to browse through the directories.. though it's freaking slow 500kbyte/s .. so now the box runs with knoppix, maybe the soundcard works but I connected my external creative extigy usb and 230gig disk :) so far the box is very silent, just nice to control xmms from the other room via wlan and my notebook :)
