Wiki Engine
WikiEngine is another word for wiki software. You run it on a WebServer to make wikis available.
The basic functions of a WikiEngine are:
- store and manage the pages either using the FileSystem or a DataBase
- answer requests from internet users that want to see or edit wiki pages in their browser
- store revisions of pages in a PageArchive for safety reasons
- manage users and their rights if there is the need
- implement dozens of basic and hundreds of addition functions
