There are three types of lists: * lists with bullets (lines start with one or more "*") * numbered lists (lines start with one or more "#") * plain lists (lines start with one or more ":") The number of characters used at the beginning of the line sets the indentation level. Example for a numbered list ("#"): # This ## is ## a # numbered ## list Example for a plain list (":"): : Mr. John Smith : Some Adress : Phone # Plain indentation is often used to give structure to the contributions of a discussion.
